Five Foods That are Extremely Healthy for Your Body
They may not be very popular as Superfoods but these foods indeed have positive effects on the human body worth mentioning. Even I was not familiar with these foods, until my dietician included these in my diet and truly, I could feel a lot of positive differences in my body. I would wish to share them with you, so that you can know them better and use them in your regular diet.
1. Goji Berries
Once you start eating goji berries, you will simply know how good they are for bringing about a complete sense of well-being. The best thing you can do is to find out dry goji berries, instead of consuming some fancy juice that promises to have some amount of goji berry in it. These berries may keep you filled in between snacks and also boost your energy level as well as push in a lot of anti-oxidants into your body. They are a very good alternative to the so-called energy drinks.
Daily stress and consumption of processed food builds up a number of free radicals which are harmful for the body. If you help yourself to a serving of goji berries, your body’s immune system is boosted and the body becomes ready to combat the attack of free radicals. By increasing the energy level, these berries also help in fighting fatigue.
This food is known to a number of vegetarians, but nowadays, its presence is more obvious in the mainstream meals, because it serves as a filling and tasty complement. My husband sticks to a no wheat diet and does not find quinoa that much appealing, but still I make sure that he has at least some servings of this food because it gives quality protein without the headache of fat and cholesterol, that always accompany animal sources.
The smart carbs present in quinoa can be easily processed by the body. Moreover, since quinoa contains negligible amount of fat, you need not worry about going for a weight loss plan, more so because it also helps you to control your calories if you are really interested in doing so.
Now who does not know this red and juicy food and the general benefits that it brings to the body? Let me tell you that you will never find any one particular reason to eat tomatoes, there are so many of them! Tomatoes can be consumed in a number of ways, by making a sauce, by including them in a salad, or by extracting their juice for a vegetable or fruit smoothie. Be careful not to grab too much of ketchup or pizza giving yourself the excuse that you are eating tomatoes!
The reason why tomatoes are considered good for health is that they are loaded with vitamins and minerals, which help to fight a number of villains in the body, thereby preventing grave diseases like cancer and heart ailments.
4. Sweet Potatoes
It is very easy to cook sweet potatoes, so you may comfortably add them to your diet. They contain a lot of vitamins and are also loaded with fibers which maintain the functionality of the digestive system. You can add them to any meal and they will superbly fit in as they are midway between a vegetable and a starch.
There are many advantages of consuming sweet potatoes and the major ones are prevention of heart attack, boosting the immune system, maintaining the youthful look of the skin and ensuring a feeling of relaxation. They also have a lot of antioxidants.
5. Black Beans
Common ingredients of many Spanish and Mexican recipes for a number of years, black beans are now popularly used by most restaurants as one of the healthiest menu items. So, whenever you visit a restaurant, try to do away with unhealthy junk food and rope in dishes containing black beans.
Beans are in general very good for health because they have a handsome amount of antioxidants, like many fruits. Moreover, the carbohydrate in the beans is slowly digested by the body; hence, your stomach feels full for a considerably long period of time. Again, black beans help in controlling blood sugar, and so are good for those who are suffering from diabetes or have high chances of getting it.
